Kindera Living: Hand Hygiene
Client
Kindera Living is the proud operator of twelve long-term care homes and one retirement community in Ontario. Kindera Living, formerly Rykka Care Centres, has been providing management and operational oversight since 2010 and has experience in all aspects of seniors care, including compliance, financial accountability, leadership development, technology and redevelopment.

Objective
The objective of this project was to design and develop an engaging, evidence-based eLearning module that strengthened staff competency in proper hand hygiene practices within Kindera Living facilities. The module aimed to enhance resident safety by improving adherence to Infection Prevention and Control (IPAC) standards, reduce the risk of healthcare-associated infections, and support staff in applying correct hand hygiene techniques at the point of care.

Deliverables
The Hand Hygiene module is designed to build awareness and reinforce proper hand hygiene practices for staff working in Kindera Living facilities. It uses clear visuals, practical scenarios, and IPAC-aligned guidance to help learners understand when and how to perform hand hygiene effectively. The module includes resources and reference materials provided by subject matter experts to ensure accuracy and real-world relevance. It is published as a SCORM package, allowing seamless upload to the LMS and enabling tracking of learner progress and completion.

Result
The Hand Hygiene module successfully improved staff understanding and compliance with IPAC hand hygiene standards across Kindera Living facilities. Learners demonstrated increased confidence in identifying the Four Moments of Hand Hygiene and applying proper technique in real workplace scenarios. Completion data from the LMS showed high engagement and successful pass rates, and the module improved consistency in hand hygiene practices among frontline staff, supporting a safer environment for both residents and employees.
