All About Trains: the Technologies Driving the Locomotive
Client
The Railway Association of Canada (RAC) represents around 60 railway companies that transport millions of passengers and $380B worth of goods annually. As part of the world's fifth-largest rail network, RAC members are Canada's transportation backbone.

Objective
The Railway Association of Canada (RAC) has launched an initiative to educate young learners in Canada about the various career opportunities available in the railway industry. Instead of directly jumping into the careers, RAC aims to start with the basics, such as an introduction to locomotives, the history of Canadian railways, and the different types of locomotives and trains in the modern world. The program also covers the impact of railways on modern logistics and supply chains. By developing an interest in railways, RAC aims to educate learners about the many career opportunities in the railway industry.

Deliverables
The module is designed to tell a story and engage young learners about railways. It includes various resources provided by the subject matter experts in RAC to spark interest in the learners. The module is available in SCORM format on D2L LMS, which allows tracking of the learners' progress.

Result
After receiving feedback from learners and subject matter experts, the module was frequently updated with results and recommendations. The changes were instant successes, leading to high satisfaction among the RAC members. Additionally, the modifications increased learner enrollment for the Railway Conductor Program at Lambton College.
